Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime) directs the weekend of performances with music direction by Ethyl Will.
The cast comprises Brandi Burkhardt (A Tale of Two Cities), Jim Brochu (Zero Hour), Quentin Earl Darrington (Ragtime), Josh Grisetti (Enter Laughing, The Musical), Veronica Kuehn (Mamma Mia!), Zonya Love (The Color Purple), Eliza Hayes Maher (Seussical national tour), Ruthie Ann Miles (Avenue Q), newcomer Elly Noble and Kay Trinidad (The Little Mermaid).
The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd features book, music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.
"Social norms and qualms are thrown out the window in The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd, a musical about 1960s London, where two gentlemen of different classes are always trying to get the best of each other and neither truly win," according to York notes. This comic musical premiered on Broadway in 1965 and includes "Feeling Good" and "Who Can I Turn To?"
The series of semi-staged performances will continue with I Remember Mama (Oct. 8-10) and I Love My Wife (Oct. 22-24). I Remember Mama will feature Erin Mackey (Sondheim on Sondheim) as Katrin and Tony winner George S. Irving reprising his role of Uncle Chris from the original Broadway production. Michael Montel will direct with Mark Hartman as music director.
I Love My Wife will feature Heidi Blickenstaff ([title of show]), who'll join the previously reported Josh Grisetti, Adam Monley (Mamma Mia!) and Patti Murin (Xanadu). Carl Andress (The Divine Sister) will direct with music direction by Matt Castle (Company).
Each show will play five performances: Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2:30 and 8 PM, and Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 PM. Audience discussions will follow all matinees.
