News Mugleston Takes the Town Again as Shields Honors Commitment Linda Mugleston, the trusty and praised understudy who spelled Ruth Sherwood for Donna Murphy many times in the Broadway revival of Wonderful Town, will do similar service for Murphy's successor, Brooke Shields.

On Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, Shields will leave the show for a Los Angeles film commitment which was booked prior to her joining the cast of Town. Mugleston will play Ruth at the Tuesday evening and Wednesday matinee shows. There will be not Oct. 20 evening show. Shields will return Oct. 21.

Brooke Shields began her run on Sept. 28. Her Broadway credits include the revivals of Grease! and Cabaret. She was seen Off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues and The Exonerated. Her film credits include "Pretty Baby," "Endless Love," "The Weekend," "The Bachelor" and "King of the Gypsies." She won an American Comedy Award for a guest appearance on "Friends," which led to her hit series "Suddenly Susan."

Wonderful Town plays the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, 302 West 45th Street.
