News Mulligan, Firth and More Win BAFTA Awards British stage and film stars Carey Mulligan and Colin Firth received acting honors at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTAs) Feb. 21 in London, according to ew.com.

Carey Mulligan

Mulligan was named Best Actress for her performance in "An Education." She has appeared in The Seagull on Broadway (for which she was Drama Desk-nominated) and in London. Her London stage credits also include Forty Winks, The Hypochondriac and Tower Lock Dreams. Additional film and television credits include "Brothers," "Public Enemies," the 2008 film of "Pride and Prejudice" and the BBC-TV miniseries "Bleak House."

Firth received Best Actor honors for his work in "A Single Man." He appeared frequently on the London stage in the 1980s and 1990s, in plays including Another Country, The Caretaker and Three Days of Rain. Film and television credits include "Easy Virtue," "Mamma Mia!," "The Importance of Being Earnest," "Bridget Jones' Diary" (and its sequel), "Shakespeare in Love," the film version of "Another Country" and the 1995 BBC-TV miniseries of "Pride and Prejudice."

Christoph Waltz received Best Supporting Actor honors for "Inglorious Basterds," and Mo'Nique was named Best Supporting Actress for "Precious."

"The Hurt Locker" received six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Kathryn Bigelow) and Best Original Screenplay (Mark Boal). Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner took home Best Adapted Screenplay for "Up in the Air."

"Fish Tank" was named Best British Film, "Up" Best Animated Film, and "A Prophet" took the honors for Film Not in the English Language. Here is a complete list of the evening's honorees:
