Mulligan was named Best Actress for her performance in "An Education." She has appeared in The Seagull on Broadway (for which she was Drama Desk-nominated) and in London. Additional film and television credits include "Brothers," "Public Enemies," the 2008 film of "Pride and Prejudice" and the BBC-TV miniseries "Bleak House."

Firth received Best Actor honors for his work in "A Single Man." He appeared frequently on the London stage in the 1980s and 1990s, in plays including Another Country, The Caretaker and Three Days of Rain. "The Hurt Locker" received six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Kathryn Bigelow) and Best Original Screenplay (Mark Boal). Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner took home Best Adapted Screenplay for "Up in the Air."
