News Musical Tony Winner Jersey Boys to Hit Chicago on National Tour The forthcoming national tour of 2006's Tony Award winner for Best Musical, Jersey Boys, will stop in Chicago in October 2007, producers announced Sept. 22.

The tour which will launch from San Francisco's Curran Theatre (starting Dec. 1) and is also scheduled to stop at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre (May 2007) will head to Chicago's LaSalle Bank Theatre in Oct. 2007. The run presented by Broadway In Chicago and TheatreDreams will be part of the subscription series of both companies.

Des McAnuff (The Who's Tommy, Big River) directs the story of American pop group The Four Seasons — the highs, the lows and all in between — comes to life in the musical Jersey Boys with the help of their hits "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like A Man," "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" and more.

Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The production garnered four Tony Award wins for stars John Lloyd Young and Christian Hoff, lighting designer Howell Binkley and for the top prize Best Musical.

Young (The Drawer Boy, The Chosen at Paper Mill) joined the cast for the Broadway run. Original stars Hoff (The Who's Tommy), Daniel Reichard (Radiant Baby, The Thing About Men) and J. Robert Spencer (Side Show, Lucky Duck) reprise their roles from the La Jolla Playhouse world premiere.

No casting for the national tour has yet been announced. Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Pelican Group, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner/Oshen/Staton/Bell/Mayerson Group produce the Broadway musical which recouped its initial investment shortly after its big Tony win in June.

The original cast album of Broadway's Jersey Boys — released on Nov. 1, 2005 — by Rhino is currently available and has remained on the Billboard Top Cast Album chart since its debut.

Sergio Trujillo serves as choreographer, Ron Melrose handles musical direction, vocal arrangements and incidental music with orchestrations provided by Steve Orich. John Miller serves as music coordinator, Steve Rankin as fight director and Steven Gabis is dialect coach.

The design team of Jersey Boys features Klara Zieglerova (scenic), Jess Goldstein (costume), Howell Binkley (lighting), Steve Canyon Kennedy (sound), Michael Clark (projection) and Charles LaPointe (wig and hair).
