Following the Sept. 17 final performance of Rupert Holmes' Accomplice at North Carolina's Temple Theatre, the theater will be 'struck'. Strike is a process that regularly takes place after a show closes. The sets are dismantled; costumes, props, and other things used during the show are put into storage. Another regular occurrence for theaters, usually once a year, is a fire inspection. This is done for obvious reasons.

This year though, at Temple, those two events coincide within 24 hours of each other. Though there will be crew and volunteers that always come to help out, because of the inspection, the theatre needs to be as immaculate as a..., well, Temple.

So if you have a few hours and would like to help, bring along your cordless drills (with phillips-head attachments), a pair of gloves and your work duds (you may get dirty) and be at the theatre around 5 PM. After the strike, pizza and refreshments will be provided.

Temple Theatre is located at 120 Carthage Street in Sanford, NC. Visit their website at www.transoftinc.com/temple.
