Classic Arts News NEA Announces USArtists International Grants for Travel to European Festivals The National Endowment for the Arts announced on August 17 the 2005 music and dance ensembles that will receive a total of $99,000 in grants under the agency's USArtists International program.
The grants, ranging from $3,000 to $10,000, support the ensembles' performances at 11 European festivals including the Edinburgh International Festival and the Cannes Festival de Danse.

A total of 17 ensembles will receive grants.

Music ensembles included among this year's recipients are the New York new-music group Bang on a Can, which will perform at the KLARA Festival in Brussels, and the Kronos Quartet, which will visit the Octobre en Normandie-Festival de Musique et de Danse in Rouen, France.

Among the dance companies favored with grants are New York's Bridgman/Packer Dance, the John Jasperse Company (which was given two grants to attend two festivals), and the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company of Fort Lee, New Jersey.

The USArtists International Program is administered by the Baltimore-based Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
