News Neil LaBute Returns to Almeida with The Distance from Here in 2002

Following the success, earlier this year, of Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things at the Almeida, the American playwright will return to the Islington company when he directs the world premiere of his latest play, The Distance from Here at the Almeida's temporary King's Cross base on May 2 next year.

His new play looks at the lives of six Americans whose experience belies the apparent calm and respectability of suburban America.

The United States is currently enjoying the original Almeida cast (including film star Rachael Weisz) in The Shape of Things at the Promenade Theatre in New York. The Almeida's Kings Cross theatre is currently showing Brian Friel's The Faith Healer.
