Neil Patrick Harris will host the 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Gala celebrating Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts May 5. The cultural institution celebrated its groundbreaking in May 1959.

A previously announced free block party May 4 kicks off the anniversary celebrations. The following day, the Gala will begin on Hearst Plaza with a dinner on the Grand Tier of The Metropolitan Opera House; the evening will then move to Alice Tully Hall for performances and an award presentation with dessert and dancing.

The event recognizes four families who have deeply impacted LCPA: the Audrey and Martin Gruss family, the Rockefeller family, the Daisy and Paul Soros family, and the Laurie M. Tisch family.
