Classic Arts News New Jersey's American Repertory Ballet Names Executive Director The American Repertory Ballet of New Jersey has named Barry C. Hughson as executive director. Hughson will also oversee the ARB's Princeton Ballet School.
Hughson was most recently the executive director of New York's Complexions Contemporary Ballet. A former dancer with Washington Ballet, he has also run the Warner Theatre of Torrington, Connecticut, and directed plays and musicals.

"We are very excited to have Barry joining us," said ARB artistic director Graham Lustig in a statement. "Not only does he bring a dance perspective to the job, he also brings his background as a performing arts administrator."

The ARB is descended from the Princeton Regional Ballet Company, founded in 1963 as an offshoot of the Princeton Ballet School. The company turned professional in 1978 and was renamed the American Repertory Ballet in 1991. It performs at Princeton's McCarter Theater, Newark's New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the New Brunswick Cultural Center, as well as New York City's Joyce Theater.
