News   New NYC Troupe Inhabits Two Rooms by Lee Blessing March 25-30
Lee Blessing's drama Two Rooms gets a brief showcase revival in Manhattan by a fledgling company called Three's Company Productions, March 25-30 at Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios.

In the play, according to the troupe, "Michael Wells is taken hostage in Lebanon. His wife, Lainie, fights to bring him home. An ambitious reporter blames his continued captivity on an inept government, while the State Department asserts the need for an unwavering foreign policy. As Michael is held prisoner in a windowless room in Beirut, Lainie strips the furniture of a room in their home so that she, at least symbolically, can share his ordeal. Ultimately, she is forced to make a choice: does she trust the efforts of the State Department, or does she utilize the media to put pressure on those who hold the fate of her husband in their hands?"

The two actresses in the cast of four will swap their roles during the run. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, Erinn Holmes will play Lainie and Amber C. Irvin will play Ellen. They switch parts Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Jeff Scot Carey will play Michael, Steve Barth will play Walker Harris.

Barth directs, Lauren Roth stage manages, Brian McKee is lighting designer and Brittany Leffler is costume designer.

Performances on March 25-30 play Tuesday-Saturday at 8 PM, Sunday at 3 PM.

Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios is located at 244 West 54th Street (between Broadway & Eighth Ave.), 12th Floor. For general seating tickets ($15) call (212) 352-3101.

Three's Company Productions was created as an outlet for three friends — Steve Barth, Erinn Holmes and Amber Irvin — who have loved working together for years. "Our goal is to draw audiences into our family, to bring honest and engaging theatre to the stage, to take risks in the kind of theatre we create and the ways we create it."
