Mummy's music is by George Quincy, a former music advisor to Martha Graham and composer of the opera Home and the River. The libretto, which was inspired by the 1930s film, is by Thayer Burch, Quincy's wife and co-collaborator on a project for children. John Yaffe will conduct.
The staged readings are being directed by Sue Lawless, a frequent on- and off-Broadway director, and features baritones Timothy Lafontaine and Steven Kirby, sopranos Deborah Ann Faw and Casey Cole, mezzo-soprano Judith Skinner, tenor Byron Singleton, and coloratura Sharmane Davis.
