Scheib (A New House in Bali, World of Wires) will return for a re-mounting of his 1998 staging of Thomas Adès' Powder Her Face Feb. 15-23 at the Gilman Opera House. Featuring a libretto by Philip Hensher and conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer, the multimedia production has sets by Marsha Ginsberg, costumes by Alba Clemente, lighting by Thomas Dunn and projection design by Joshua Higgason.

Inspired by the 1960's British sex scandal, the opera will feature Allison Cook as the Duchess, Nili Riemer as the Maid, Matt Boehler as the the Hotel Manager, Jon Morris as the Waiter, Kaneza Schaal as the Nurse and, as NYCO bills it, "a non-singing chorus of thirty nude men."

Buntrock (Sunday in the Park With George) will helm the Feb. 26-March 2 BAM run of The Turn of the Screw, based on the Henry James story and featuring a libretto by Myfanwy Piper. It is re-imagined as a contemporary 1980's horror story by Buntrock, with set and costume design by David Farley and lighting by David Weiner.

The cast will feature Sara Jakubiak as the Governess, Dominic Armstrong as Peter Quint, Lauren Worsham as Flora, Benjamin P. Wenzelberg as Miles, Sharmay Musacchio as Mrs. Grose and Jennifer Goode Cooper as Miss Jessel.

NYCO will also stage Moses in Egypt and La Périchole at City Center this spring. The company is expected to offer the American premiere of the Mark-Anthony Turnage opera Anna Nicole, based on the life of Anna Nicole Smith, at BAM in mid-September under the direction of Richard Jones.
