The French program, on March 8, 2006, includes music by Satie, Chabrier and Ravel; singers include mezzo-soprano Marie Lenormand and baritone Hugh Russell.
Other programs include a reprise of last season's "Fats and Fields," with music by Dorothy Fields and Fats Waller; "Godmothers of Song," featuring music commissioned by women; and a program of zarzuela with soprano Dina Kuznetsova.
NYFOS was founded in 1988 by pianists Steven Blier and Michael Barrett. Both appear throughout the season.
