News New York Times Company Foundation Fund Awards Grants to 25 Theatres Twenty-five not-for-profit theatres received a total of $82,000 in grant money awarded by The New York Times Company Foundation Fund for Mid-Size Theatres.

The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) administered the awards, which were given to companies with annual operating budgets between $500,000 and $5 million.

In a statement A.R.T./New York executive director Virginia P. Louloudes said, "I am astonished when I look at the incredible range of the companies who have been selected . . . as the recipients of this year's New York Times Company Foundation Fund for Mid-size Theatres grants. The richness of New York's theatre community is amazing, as is the Foundation's commitment to ensure that the community continues to thrive. I am, as always, eternally grateful to the Foundation for trusting us to administer this program and for providing this much-needed general operating support."

The New York Times Company Foundation will also make a contribution to A.R.T./New York's existing JPMorgan Chase Fund for Small Theatres. The Foundation will award nearly $150,000 to companies with annual operating budgets between $100,000 and $500,000. *
