The production will play a limited holiday engagement at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, according to the New York Times. Performances will begin in November and continue through New Year's Day.

Elf—The Musical features a score by The Wedding Singer's Matthew Sklar (music) and Chad Beguelin (lyrics) and a book co-authored by The Drowsy Chaperone's Bob Martin and Annie's Tom Meehan.

Will Ferrell starred in the 2003 film "Elf" about an oversized elf raised in the North Pole who arrives in the United States to find his true identity.

No casting has been announced for the Broadway run, although Christian Anderson (High Fidelity, Avenue Q) has played the Ferrell role in a previous reading.

Casey Nicholaw received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for his work on The Drowsy Chaperone as well as Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Choreography for Spamalot. He also directed and choreographed the Encores! productions of Follies and Anyone Can Whistle and choreographed the Encores! production of Bye Bye Birdie and the New York Philharmonic staging of Candide as well as the Carnegie Hall presentation of South Pacific.
