News   Nicole Kidman To Return to the London Stage in U.K Premiere of Anna Ziegler's Photograph 51
Nicole Kidman is to return to the London stage for the first time since 1998 in the UK premiere of Anna Ziegler's Photograph 51. It will begin performances Sept. 5 prior to an official opening Sept. 14, for a run through Nov. 21 at the Noel Coward Theatre.

Kidman starred in The Blue Room at the Donmar Warehouse in 1998, in a production that subsequently transferred to Broadway.

Photograph 51 will be directed by Michael Grandage for his own troupe, the Michael Grandage Company, and will reunite Kidman and Grandage following their recent collaboration on the forthcoming feature film "Genius".

In a press statement, Grandage said, "We’re thrilled to be returning to the West End with Nicole Kidman in Photograph 51 at such a vibrant time for London theatre. At the heart of all our work is a desire to make theatre accessible to everyone – we are delighted to offer a quarter of all the tickets for the run, over 20,000 tickets, for Photograph 51 at just £10, continuing our commitment to stage productions of the highest quality at affordable prices."

The MGC originally debuted with a season of five plays, also at the Noel Coward Theatre, in 2013/14 that included Daniel Radcliffe in The Cripple of Inishmaan that subsequently transferred to Broadway.

Kidman will play Rosalind Franklin, the woman who cracked DNA, the chemical blueprint for life. Does she know how precious her photograph is? In the race to unlock the secret of life it could be the one to hold the key. With rival scientists looking everywhere for the answer, who will be first to see it and, more importantly, understand it?

Ziegler's other plays include The Last Match (upcoming at The Old Globe in San Diego and City Theatre in Pittsburgh), A Delicate Ship (upcoming in New York City at The Playwrights Realm; previously produced at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park), and Another Way Home (upcoming in Washington DC at Theater J; previously produced at Magic Theatre, San Francisco). Dov and Ali was seen in London at Theatre 503.
