Pike St. is presented by Epic Theatre Ensemble and helmed by executive director Ron Russell. Performances begin Nov. 10, with an official opening night scheduled for Nov. 15.

In commemoration of the third anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, audience members are invited to stay after preview performances to discuss and ask questions about the relevant social issues presented in the work.

"A core piece of our mission goes beyond creating great theatre. It goes to creating transformational theatre that inspires action," commented Epic managing director Robert Chelimsky in a press statement.

"We want people to leave not only feeling like they should do something, but knowing that they can do something, and knowing what that is!" he continued. "We’re grateful to be partnering with L.E.S. Ready and the Emergency Management Department for the preview week Post-Show Forum Series, to present guests who can engage with audiences about the challenges we face in this city, what services are available and for whom, what services aren’t available and for whom, and what they can do about it.”

Sun's one-woman show tells the story of Evelyn, whose teenage daughter Candace is unable to move or breathe on her own. Stuck in a crumbling tenement, the struggling family prepares to weather the next big storm. Sun is a playwright and performer whose show No Child garnered critical acclaim and toured the country following its Off-Broadway debut. Her film and TV credits include "Louie," "30 Rock" and "Law & Order: SVU."
