News Ninth Anniversary of Toronto Opera to See Five Phantoms, Sept. 20 To commemorate of the ninth anniversary of the Toronto production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, five actors who have performed the title role will participate in a special performance at the Pantages Theatre, Sept. 20 at 7 PM. Originally, six phantoms had been scheduled, but Colm Wilkinson recently bowed out. A spokesperson at Livent's press office said Wilkinson was unable to get away from his duties in the Toronto production of Les Miserables, where he has been playing Jean Valjean.

To commemorate of the ninth anniversary of the Toronto production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, five actors who have performed the title role will participate in a special performance at the Pantages Theatre, Sept. 20 at 7 PM. Originally, six phantoms had been scheduled, but Colm Wilkinson recently bowed out. A spokesperson at Livent's press office said Wilkinson was unable to get away from his duties in the Toronto production of Les Miserables, where he has been playing Jean Valjean. The five remaining phantoms, some of whom will be traveling from the U.S. and England, are Ethan Freeman, Cris Groenendaal, Jeff Hyslop, Ciaran Sheehan and Peter Karrie (the current Phantom).

All five performers will be worked into the Sept. 20 performance. Afterwards, they will take part in a concert celebrating the anniversary. Part of the ticket sales for the evening will go to Breakfast for Learning, a program sponsored by the Canadian Living Foundation which ensures that Canadian kids go to school well-fed.

Tickets to the event went on sale July 18. Prices range $50-$150. The top price includes a champagne reception with the cast after the show. Tickets can be purchased at the AT&T Center for the Performing Arts at 244 Victoria St.; the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts box office, 5040 Yonge St.; TicketMaster locations in Southern Ontario; or by calling the Livent Line at (416) 872-2222.
