A would-be Edinburgh Fringe Festival performer tried to take the concept of a one-man show to an extreme — but officials stepped on the brake. Benji Ming, an ex-Edinburgh University student, has been refused a licence to perform in his mobile one-man theatre. One man on 'stage', one person in the audience: his theatre is a two-seater car.
Ming's license has been refused on safety grounds. The performance was to consist of the passenger's choice of one of three fifteen-minute monologues.
