It's a play within a play, about Chicago in Chicago. The hit pop and blues musical Northside/Southside, originally produced at Crosscurrents Cabaret, is being revised at the Theatre Building on Belmont Avenue in Chicago.

The show is about two actresses; an African-American woman from the South Side and a Caucasian woman from Rogers Park. They find they share issues about parents, men, and pain. Another experience that links them is their mistrust of each other.

The music is composed Robert Lombardo, whose wife, Kathleen Lombardo, wrote the book and lyrics. The musical has been revised for the bigger staging, and includes songs "Floating in the Water," "I Feel Spacey" and "Out on the Street".

Allison/Janet is played by Amber Lawson, Mosetta/Kimberly is played by Patricia Mosley.

Northside/Southside opens Aug. 28 and runs through October 20. For tickets and more information: (312) 327-5252.
