News NYC Musical Theatre Artists Talk About Conducting and Musical Directing, March 16-April 14 From March 16 to April 14, well-known conductor and musical director Ted Sperling will lead a series of four panels about the art of musical direction. He will be joined by some of the more prominent composers, directors, choreographers, orchestrators and conductors working in the New York theatre.

The event will be held at 7 PM on three successive Sundays and one Monday, at the Manhattan Theatre Club Rehearsal Space, 311 W. 43rd St., 8th floor.

The four discussion are as follows:

• March 16: "Conducting Yourself with Your Creative Team," featuring casting director Jay Binder, director-choreographer Jonathan Butterell, actor Greg Edelman, composers Michael John LaChiusa and Jeanine Tesori, director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall, director Lonny Price, actress Faith Prince and producer Ira Weitzman.

• March 23: "Conducting Yourself with Your Music Team," featuring vocal and dance arranger David Chase, orchestrators Bruce Coughlin and Jonathan Tunick, music copyist Emily Grishman, dance arranger Zane Mark, contractors John Miller and Seymour Press and drummer Dave Ratajczak.

• April 6: "Conducting Yourself with Your Business Team," featuring agent Beth Blickers, company manager Judith Drasner, director of musical development at MTC Clifford Lee Johnson III, contractor John Miller, producer Lauren Mitchell and entertainment lawyer Mark Sendroff. • April 14: "Conducting Yourself on the Job," featuring musical directors David Chase, David Loud, Kim Grigsby, Michael Rafter and Eric Stern.
