News NYC Reading of Scenes from a Marriage Cancelled The Salt Theatre's Jan. 4 reading of the original television script of "Scenes From a Marriage" has been cancelled. The event was to have taken place at the Ohio Theater in Soho from 2-8 PM. Emma Griffin was to direct downtowners Thomas Jay Ryan and Maria Striar in the developing piece.

"Scenes from a Marriage" is known to cineastes as one of the high points of Bergman's film career. But, as Griffin pointed out, the project began as a six-part television series (the American TV producer David Jacobs said in the 1980s that his domestic drama series, "Knots Landing," was inspired by the Bergman epic). Griffin and her cast have been rehearsing, using the original script, for some time.
