The company will present two full-length ballets this season: Balanchine's Jewels, with three sections featuring music by Faur_, Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky, and Susan Stroman's Double Feature, a ballet set to the tunes of Irving Berlin and Walter Donaldson.

The repertory also features new ballets by NYCB ballet master Peter Martins and resident choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, as well as such signature Balanchine works as Prodigal Son, Apollo, and The Four Temperaments.

American Ballet Theatre star Julio Bocca appears in in his first NYCB appearance in Martins' tango-inspired Todo Buenos Aires, set to music by Astor Piazzolla.

The New York City Ballet was founded by Lincoln Kirstein, who invited George Balanchine to come to New York in 1933 to start a new American company and ballet school. The company currently has 90 dancers and a repertory of over 150 works choreographed by Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Martins, and others.
