A one-night stand gone wrong, set against Marvin Gaye's "Trouble Man," is the subject of T. Tara Turk's one act Grim Foster's Love Song, playing Nov. 5-22 at the Homegrown Theater. Ka'ramuu Kush directs. The title character is a successful R&B singer who first came into prominence dueting with his now dead wife Tia. Now on the verge of really making it as a solo artist, Grim finds himself in a bad one-night stand with Kat, who believes only one thing -- that the words love and song do not go together.
Foster features director Kush, Dele, Karen Kitz and Tony Zertuche.
Tickets are $12 and available by calling (212) 462-9441. The Homegrown Theater is located at 2628 Broadway between 99th and 100th Street.
