Young, emerging playwrights of color living in the New York metropolitan area are eligible to apply for New York Theatre Workshop Writer's Fellowships. Winners receive a $3,000 commission and participate in a week-long summer retreat in late July or early August. New York Theatre Workshop has produced such works as Rent, Brides of the Moon and the current The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told.
