Young, emerging playwrights of color living in the New York metropolitan area are eligible to apply for New York Theatre Workshop Writer's Fellowships. Winners receive a $3,000 commission and participate in a week-long summer retreat in late July or early August. To apply, submit a letter that includes your artistic vision, a resume, and a full-length play by May 1, 1999, to: New York Theatre Workshop, 79 E. 4th St., New York, NY 10003, Attn: Chiori Miyagawa, Artistic Associate.

New York Theatre Workshop has produced such works as Rent, Brides of the Moon and the current The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told.
