The Off-Broadway comedy troupe Chicago City Limits will open its latest revue Subpoenas Envy at the Chicago City Limits Theatre (1105 First Avenue and 61st St.) on Sept. 23. In case you can't guess by the title, it partly concerns President Clinton's current difficulties. The show, however, also takes a whack at other institutions. Among them are NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani and his zealous quality-of-life campaign; a NYC police precinct's predilection for prostitutes; civil rights activist, politician and erstwhile Tawana Brawley supporter Al Sharpton; and the Disney influence on 42nd Street. Chicago City Limits was founded in the Windy City in 1979 with the mission to bring Chicago humor to New York City. The current cast features Carl Kissin, John O'Donnell, Joe DeGise II and Denny Siegel, with Frank Spitznagel on piano.
