Jeffrey DeMunn and Ellen Parker will costar in Shem Bitterman's two-hand drama, Open House, at Off-Broadway's WPA Theater, May 27-June 20, officially opening June 10. According to a WPA spokesperson, the play tells of two strangers, he trying to sell a house, she, a potential buyer, trying to start a new life. They embark on an intense relationship.
Film actor Judd Nelson was initially attached to the project, but DeMunn (K2) is now the lead. Steve Zuckerman directs.
Bitterman, whose adaptation of Frank Wedekind's "The Marquis of Keith" opens in L.A. next month (as A.K.A.: A Beverly Hills Musical Morality Tale), has also penned Survivors, Buffalo Hunters and the recent West Coast hit, The Job.
In the fall, the WPA will mount Jonathan Sheffer's Blood on the Dining Room Floor at a different venue.
