Broadway vets Barbara Walsh, Rita Gardner, Adam Heller, Susan Mansur, Erin Leigh Peck, Jeff Skowron and Robyn Hussa will perform a staged reading of a new musical, Normal, in a festival of new musicals called "Warning: Not for Broadway," June 17.

Normal, about a family disrupted by a daughter's eating disorder, was penned by Yvonne Adrian and Cheryl Stern (book and lyrics) and Tom Kochan (music).

The musical was originally conceived at the New Group under the direction of Scott Elliot. The show is now being helmed by director Jack Cummings III. The creators say the show's style is like the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive, only with music.

In Normal, 15-year-old Polly has an eating disorder. Gayla, her mother, "takes a terrifying and yet oddly humorous rollercoaster ride in a desperate attempt to save her daughter's life. Along the way, she learns the lessons of a lifetime," according to a statement. It's "off-beat, non linear, unexpected, on the edge, minimalist and full of heart."

Normal will be presented 9:30 PM June 17. The festival is at Dixon Place at Vineyard 26, 309 East 26th St. at Second Ave in Manhattan. For information, call (212) 532 1546. — By Kenneth Jones
