Director and opera composer Tom O'Horgan, best known for directing the Broadway productions of Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar, will revive his dance oratorio, Plagues For Our Time, Nov. 4-21 at La MaMa E.T.C. O'Horgan directs and choreographs.

Inspired by the 10 plagues of the Old Testament, the a cappella oratorio Plagues For Our Time twists the traditional locusts and boils into their modern equivalents: painlessness, mass transit and shopping malls. Eve Merriam, an O'Horgan collaborator on 1972's Inner City based on her book "Inner City Mother Goose," also wrote the musical The Club.

O'Horgan debuted Plagues in 1983. Other productions include Lenny on Broadway, La MaMa productions of Futz and The Architect and the Emperor of Assyria, Bernstein's Mass at the Kennedy Center and Stravinsky's "Soldier's Tale" at Carnegie Hall.

Marc Cohen designed the production with costumes by Susan Elkin.

Tickets are $15-$20 and available by calling (212) 475-7710. La MaMa E.T.C. is located at 74A East Fourth Street. -- By Christine Ehren
