News   O'Neill Center and CTI Launch Summer Intensive
The Commercial Theater Institute has teamed up with the O'Neill Summer Workshop to present a summer intensive on the process of creative development.

The four-day intensive will allow participants in the program to develop business models for the O'Neill Center's selected Summer Conference productions. The program is limited to 12 individuals who will benefit from working directly with the writers and directors of the O'Neill productions, as well as take part in guest lectures from the New York professional theatre community.

The 2008 session – in residence at the O'Neill Center – will run from July 17-20, and is led by O'Neill board chair Tom Viertel and CTI program director Jed Bernstein.

Notifications of acceptance into the program will be made around May 23; applications are currently available by visiting www.commercialtheaterinstitute.com.

The Commercial Theatre Institute was created by the Theatre Development Fund and the League of American Theatres and Producers to cultivate and educate producers for the commercial theatre. Founded in 1964, The O'Neill Center develops and nurtures new artists and new work, with its annual National Playwrights Conference and National Music Theater Conference, and its accredited training program the National Theater Institute.
