News O'Neill Playwrights Conference Will Feature Reed Birney, Eisa Davis and Betty Gilpin Casting has been announced for the 2014 National Playwrights Conference, held at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.

The Conference, which runs July 2-19, will be helmed by artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg and will focus on the development of six new plays.

The readings will feature Tony nominee Reed Birney (Casa Valentina, Picnic), Eisa Davis (Passing Strange, "The Good Wife") and Betty Gilpin ("Nurse Jackie," "Ghost Town").

The conference will feature works by Mike Lew, Halley Feiffer and Tanya Barfield, presented in public readings.

"I am thrilled at the return of many alumni actors, and also welcome spectacular new talent to the National Playwrights Conference," Goldberg said in a statement. "As the O'Neill celebrates its 50th anniversary season, all of these actors will help us immensely as we work through the development of these selected plays. We are grateful to have such talented and professional casts as such an important part of the O'Neill process."
