The "Month of Mozart," scheduled for May 2006, will be presented in collaboration with Portland Opera and the Oregon Ballet Theatre, and will include a performance of the composer's Requiem. On the Transmigration of Souls, Adams' Pulitzer Prize-winning tribute to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, was premiered by the New York Philharmonic in 2002 and has quickly entered the repertoire of orchestras around the country.

The orchestra will also perform a number of works from the standard repertoire that it has never played, including Mahler's Seventh Symphony and Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements.

Guest soloists on the schedule include pianist Horacio Guti_rrez and mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore; among the visiting conductors are former music director James DePreist, Yakov Kreizberg, and Michael Stern, who was recently named music director of the Kansas City Symphony
