News Origin Theatre Company Will Present Reading of Brighton, With Tony Winner Jim Norton, May 12 Tony Award winner Jim Norton will star with Gillian Hanna and Conor MacNeill in a reading of Brighton May 12 at 7 PM.

Presented by Origin Theatre Company, with the participation of the Norwegian Consulate General in New York, as part of its 10th annual "Mondays in May" reading series, the reading of Jim Nolan's play will be held at NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House. Matt Torney will direct.

Norton's stage credits include The Seafarer and Of Mice and Men. Hanna and MacNeill are currently performing in The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Here's how the event is billed: "A funny and touching drama, Brighton traces the developing friendship between an older woman and a much younger man, both recuperating in a London nursing home."

Origin Theatre Company is the city’s only theatre company devoted to presenting the American premieres of new works by Europe’s brightest contemporary playwrights.

Upcoming readings include Ulsberg Brager's The Boy of Oystein, directed by Alicia Dyana House, May 19; and Arne Lygre's Man Without Purpose, directed by Henning Hegland, May 26.
