Variety reports that Edwards portrayed Charles Gray in the reading, the role created in the original Broadway production by Henry Fonda. The reading was presented by Jeffrey Richards and Michael Rothfield, who may produce a Broadway revival of the Paul Osborn work. Anthony Edwards received a Golden Globe Award for his work on NBC-TV's "ER." He was also nominated for four Emmy Awards for his role on that medical drama. Edwards' other screen credits include "In Cold Blood," "The Client," "Northern Exposure," "Downtown," "How I Got to College," "Top Gun," "The Sure Thing," "Revenge of the Nerds" and "It Takes Two."

Osborn's The Point of No Return played Broadway's Alvin Theatre from December 1951 to November 1952. In addition to Henry Fonda, the original cast also featured Phil Arthur, Frances Bavier, Heywood Hale Broun, Madeleine Clive, Frank Conroy, John Cromwell, Leora Dana, Susan Harris, Pitt Herbert, Katherine Hynes, James Jolley, Colin Keith-Johnston, Madeleine King, James MacDonald, Davis Roberts, Barlett Robinson, Robert Ross, Keith Russell, Harriet Selby, Patricia Smith and Stanley Tackney. Leland Hayward produced the original production, which featured direction by H. C. Potter.
