Cromer, according to Variety, will direct a production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire for the Writers' Theatre. Cromer previously directed a production of William Inge's Picnic for the Glencoe, IL, theatre company. Cromer's Streetcar will play the Writers' Theatre May 4-July 11, 2010.
The season at the Writers' Theatre, according to the industry paper, will also include Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, directed by Michael Halberstam; the Noel Coward musical revue Oh, Coward!, directed by Jim Corti; and Henry Redwood's The Old Settler, directed by Ron OJ Parson.
Cromer, who directed last season's acclaimed musical, Adding Machine, will make his Broadway directing debut next season with Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound.
