News Outer Critics Circle Noms Announced; Nine and Hairspray Lead with 12 Nods Nominations for the Outer Critics Circle Awards have been announced. Leading the pack are Nine and Hairspray with 12 nods apiece.

Emerging as the most nominated play was the dark horse, Enchanted April, which snuck onto Broadway recently without much ballyhoo and has not officially opened to critics yet. Also doing well was the Lincoln Center revival of Dinner at Eight. Coming up short was the still-in-previews Broadway revival of Gypsy, which garnered only two nominations, for best revival of a musical and best director of a musical, Sam Mendes.
