News Pal Joey's Plimpton Signs On for Showtime Pilot Two-time Tony nominee Martha Plimpton, currently featured in the Broadway revival of Pal Joey at Studio 54, will be part of the cast of the new Showtime pilot "The End of Steve."

The Hollywood Reporter says that Plimpton will play a television producer in the pilot, which stars former "Friends" actor Matthew Perry.

The cast for the pilot will also include Kiele Sanchez, Eddie Shin, Nate Torrence and Dreama Walker.

The Sony TV project was penned by Peter Tolan and Perry, who both executive produce. The series, according to the industry paper, casts Perry as "Steve, an egomaniacal local talk show host who is on a reluctant path to redemption."

Martha Plimpton received Tony nominations for her performances in Top Girls and The Coast of Utopia. Her other Broadway credits include Shining City and Sixteen Wounded.
