Paper Mill: The State Theatre of New Jersey has announced its 2003 2004 season.

Under the helm of Michael Gennaro (CEO), Angelo Del Rossi (Executive Producer), Roy Miller (Associate Producer) and Mark S. Hoebee (Associate Director), the upcoming season will include productions of Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Sound of Music, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, The Chosen, Baby and Guys and Dolls.

Subscription packages — ranging from $112 to $342 — are now available by calling (973) 379-3717 or by logging on to www.papermillorg. Single ticket sales will begin in July.

The 2003-2004 season at the Paper Mill begins Sept. 10 with the Fats Waller musical Ain’t Misbehavin’. The revue that made a star out of the late Nell Carter features such tunes as “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Mean to Me” and “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” and will play the New Jersey theatre through Oct. 29.

The beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music, most recently on Broadway starring Rebecca Luker, is scheduled to run Oct. 29-Dec. 14. Featuring a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, the musical’s classic tunes include “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things” and “Edelweiss.”

The New Jersey premiere of Charles Busch’s The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife is the first production of 2004 for the Paper Mill, running Jan. 7 Feb. 8. The comedy concerns the crazy life of New York City resident Marjorie Taub, who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Linda Lavin — back on Broadway this season in the short-lived Hollywood Arms — portrayed Taub Off-Broadway. Theodore Bikel will head the cast of Chaim Potok and Aaron Posner’s The Chosen, which will run Feb. 18-March 21, 2004. This will mark the New Jersey premiere of this play, which is set in 1944 Brooklyn.

Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire’s musical Baby — about three couples whose lives are affected in various ways by the prospect of having (or not having) a baby — will play the Paper Mill March 31-May 9, 2004. The musical will feature a new book by Sybille Pearson.

The Paper Mill season will conclude with the award-winning Frank Loesser musical Guys and Dolls. Boasting such tunes as “Luck Be a Lady,” “If I Were a Bell” and “Adelaide’s Lament,” Guys and Dolls will run June 2-July 18, 2004.
