PASADENA, CA -- Call it "Shakespeare in the mall."
William Shakespeare's pastoral comedy As You Like It opened recently at the Pasadena Shakespeare Company's mall theatre for a run through Sept. 20.
The director is Dana Marley, whose previous productions for the PSC include the award-winning 1997 production of Our Country's Good and this year's The Beggar's Opera.
Marley has set As You Like It in the 1920s, a period he believes "reinforces the play's humorous exploration of the differences between men and women and between rural and urban life." Other Shakespeare comedies include Love's Labours Lost, Twelfth Night and The Comedy of Errors.
The PSC is located in Suite 296 of the Plaza Pasadena Mall, in the 300 E. block of Colorado Blvd. Free parking is available in the southeast corner of Euclid and Green. A pedestrian bridge leads directly from the third floor garage into the mall. Performances are Friday and Saturday 8 PM; Sunday 3 PM. Tickets are $17, $14 for students, seniors and members of 4A unions. Call (626) 564-8564 or visit PSC's website at home earthlink net.
