Director Roger Castellano's company includes Maria Eberline, Brent Schindele, Tom Shelton, Valerie Perri, Ezra Buzzington, Lowe Taylor, Matthew Patrick Davis, Andy Scott Harris, Cassie Silva, Harrison White, Jim Holdridge, John Massey, Benjamin Goldsmith and Peter Siragusa.

Performances play the historic California theatre to Oct. 16. Official opening is Sept. 25.

The new musical is by Richard Addrisi (music and lyrics) and Craig Carlisle (book). Addrisi is known for his hit song "Never My Love." It's presented in association with Kathleen K. Johnson (a 2009 Tony Award-winning producer for her participation in Hair, which was named Best Revival of a Musical).

Here's how South Street is characterized: "From an old firehouse to a strip joint to the now-celebrated location of the annual Full Moon Festival, Sammy's Place has been a fixture on Philadelphia's eclectic South Street for decades.
