Pete and Connolly as well as rapper Xzibit (MTV's "Pimp My Ride") have signed on to join the former television series' stars — David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson — for the next film adaptation for Fox. Carter and Frank Spotnitz penned the screenplay for the upcoming film — which will not be a sequel or continuation of the 1998 film. Production is slated to start this month in Vancouver for a July 2008 release.

Peet is known for her screen turns in "The Whole Nine Yards," "A Lot Like Love," "Something's Gotta Give" and the current "Martian Child," among others. The actress made her Broadway debut in the 2006 revival of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park following stage turns Off-Broadway in This Is How It Goes and Awake and Sing!.

Scottish comedian (and sometime-actor) Connolly recently appeared in Eric Idle's new play, What About Dick? In addition to playing Off-Broadway, he has been seen in the films "Mrs. Brown," "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" and "The Last Samurai."

Original series star Anderson has hit the London stage a number of times since the end of the show. She starred in Michael Weller's What The Night Is For and returned to the boards in Rebecca Gilman's The Sweetest Swing In Baseball.
