CHICAGO--Anti-magicians Penn & Teller have been performing illusions together for over 20 years. The result? "We are so sick of it we could spit. So in the next show we will be moving into the field of religion and will be performing real miracles." (Notice that the tongue never leaves the cheek.) That new show, the duo's Broadway-bound 20th anniversary tour, opens June 2 at the Shubert Theatre and includes card tricks with forklifts, broken bottle juggling, bunny rabbits in chipper-shredders and guns--.347 magnums, loaded by audience members--which will allow the death-defiers to perform the dreaded Bullet Catch (an act that has so far killed 12 magicians). They're scheduled for 16 performances through June 14.
