Maldonado, who will continue in the role through April 8, succeeds DeLaney Westfall, who played her final performance February 1.

Maldonado joins Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, also in his Broadway debut, as Charlie Price. J. Harrison Ghee recently returned to the role of Lola.

Maldonado rose to fame as a member of Pentatonix when she and some friends auditioned for NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2011. Since then, the group has won three Grammys, received a Daytime Emmy nomination, had seven albums reach top ten on the Billboard 200 chart, sold out shows across the globe, and starred in their own network Christmas special.

The musical features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell.
