News Performers Announced for Rescheduled Broadway for a New America on April 13 Broadway for a New America: Standing Up for Marriage Equality and a Progressive Agenda for Change, the gala benefit for the Jewish Alliance for Change, has announced the lineup of performers for the April 13 presentation at Symphony Space in Manhattan.

Originally scheduled for March 2, the event was postponed to April 13 due to the major snowstorm that hit the East coast last month. Much of the talent originally scheduled to perform in March will appear in April.

Tony Award-winner Jim Dale will emcee the 7 PM evening that features appearances by Richard Belzer, Billy Stritch, Tovah Feldshuh, Ann Hampton Callaway, Mike Burstyn, Judy Kaye, David Green, Phyllis Newman, Seth Rudetsky, Melissa Errico, Nellie McKay, Anne Meara, the Broadway Boys, the New York City Gay Men's Chorus and the Accidentals. Additional performers are expected to be announced.

Sara Louise Lazarus directs the concert, which has musical direction by Lawrence Yurman. Kati Meister and Scott Denny are the producers.

Speakers for the event include Evan Wolfson, founder and director of Freedom to Marry; Steven Goldstein, chair of Garden State Equality; Ron Zacchi, executive director of Marriage Equality New York; Wayne Besen, founder and executive director of Truth Wins Out; and Rabbis J. Rolando Matalon and Marcelo Bronstein of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, New York City.

The Jewish Alliance for Change, according to press notes, "plans to build on its achievements and mobilize the American public to fight for marriage equality and the realization of a progressive agenda for change. The benefit proceeds will go to The Jewish Alliance for Change for the continuation of its good work in support of important progressive issues."
