The Buenos Aires production of Perla, written and directed by Brazilian author Mauro Rasi, will play its last performance Aug. 16. Plans for a national tour were dropped when leading lady and Argentine favorite Soledad Silveyra (Lost in Yonkers, Silvia) announced that, after the show closes, she will go to New York and London on a holiday.
Other members of the cast are Pablo Rago and Juan Manuel Tenuta. Actress Beatriz Taibo replaced Tina Serrano (Blood Brothers), as Perla's sister a few months ago.
Perla is playing at the Metropolitan Theatre 1, Corrientes Ave. 1343. For information, call 371-1064. Performances are Wednesday and Thursday 9 PM; Friday 9 PM; Saturday 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM; Sunday 8 PM.
