News Peters, Jones and Wainwright to Appear with San Francisco Symphony Tony winners Bernadette Peters and James Earl Jones will make appearances with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra this summer.

Prior to the official launch of the Summer Concert Seriees, Peters will reunite with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra for a performance at Davis Symphony Hall on June 27.

The July 2 opening night will include selections of American classics, including Leonard Bernstein's symphonic dances from West Side Story, as well as "On the Waterfront" and selections from Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris." Excerpts from the concert will be repeated for a free encore on July 5 at Sigmund Stern Grove.

The Symphony will present "Bugs Bunny on Broadway" July 17, featuring screen projections of the classic Looney Tunes cartoon characters set to a live performance of the Carl Stalling score from the television program.

Closing the series will be veteran actor James Earl Jones narrating Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait" and Walt Whitman's "Oh Captain My Captain" on July 24. Joining in the evening will be Beach Blanket Babylon cast member Stephanie Harwood.
