News Peterson, Griffin, Shapiro, Perkins and More to Star in Sixpence for Musicals Tonight! Casting has been announced for the Musicals Tonight! production of Half a Sixpence, which will be presented at Off-Broadway's McGinn/Cazale Theatre April 1-13.

Directed by Thomas Sabella-Mills with musical direction by James Stenborg, the cast will feature Jon Peterson, Robert Lydiard, Amy Griffin, Doug Shapiro, Deborah Jean Templin, Kathryn Holtkamp, Danny Beiruti, Patti Perkins, Roger Rifkin, Sean Bell, Jenna Coker-Jones, Michael Jennings Mahoney, Sara Sawyer, Christine Walker, Erika Zabelle and Anthony Zillmer.

In Half a Sixpence, press notes state, "it is Folkstone, England, 1900 and Arthur Kipps (Jon Peterson) works as a draper's apprentice in Mr. Shalford's (Robert Lydiard) store. He has an 'understanding' with the servant girl Ann Pornick (Amy Griffin). An actor, Chitterlow (Doug Shapiro), brings news that Kipps has inherited a fortune, and he tries to use the money to move up into local society. The only society folk who pay any attention are those with something to gain, like Mrs. Walsingham (Deborah Jean Templin), her daughter, Helen (Kathryn Holtkamp), and her worthless son (Danny Beiruti), with whom, foolishly, Kipps invests. Kipps finally comes to his senses, renounces the society of the Walsinghams and Mrs. Botting (Patti Perkins) and returns to Ann. When the money is lost, Arthur retires with his wife (and newborn child) to run a bookshop."

Half a Sixpence features a book by Beverley Cross, music by David Heneker and lyrics by David Heneker. Song titles include "All in the Cause of Economy," "She's Too Far Above Me," "If the Rain's Got to Fall," "Money to Burn" and "Flash, Bang, Wallop!"

Show times are Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30 PM, Wednesday and Friday at 2 PM and Sunday at 3 PM.

The McGinn/Cazale Theatre is located in Manhattan at 2162 Broadway, between 76th and 77th Streets, on the 3rd Floor. Tickets, priced $20, are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com. *
