Classic Arts News Phil Woods Records Tribute to Quincy Jones Veteran alto saxophonist Phil Woods' new album, This Is How I Feel About Quincy, is due out today. The album, featuring Woods' Little Big Band, is a collection of tunes by the composer, arranger, bandleader, and impresario Quincy Jones.
The CD's title is a reference to the 1956 Jones album This Is How I Feel About Jazz, on which Woods appeared, and two songs on the new album were drawn from that landmark release: "Stockholm Sweetnin'" and "Evening in Paris."

Other tracks include "The Quintessence," "Birth of a Band," and "Q's Delight.

Among Woods' sidemen are bassist Steve Gilmore and drummer Bill Goodwin, who have anchored his rhythm section since the 1970s, and pianist Bill Charlap.
