Several top politicos came out for the Dec. 9 opening of Dance of the Vampires including former Vice President Al Gore (with his wife, Tipper) and Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts (with his wife, Victoria).

Dance of the Vampires is based on Roman Polanski's campy horror-comedy film "The Fearless Vampire Hunters" and comes to Broadway's Minskoff Theatre via a 1997-2000 German language world premiere in Vienna. Tony Award winner Michael Crawford (The Phantom of the Opera) heads the cast as the evil vampire Count von Krolock with Rene Auberjonois (City of Angels) as the vampire-hunting Professor Abronsius, Mandy Gonzalez as the seduced innocent Sarah, Max von Essen as the Professor's young assistant Alfred, Ron Orbach as the lusty innkeeper Chagal and Asa Somers as von Krolock's gay son Herbert.
