Manhattan Theatre Club kicked off their annual Spring Gala with Thoroughly Modern Millie. The musical comedy, nominated for 11 Tony Awards, stars Sutton Foster as the young lady from Kansas who goes flapper once she arrives in big, bad New York City. Pictured are the chorines and chorus boys who excite her and entice her into her new life.
The 2002 MTC Spring Gala was held May 13 in the New York Hilton's Grand Ballroom. Performances included numbers from Urinetown, Into the Woods, The Producers and George C. Wolfe's Harlem Song, plus a special performance by Donna Murphy. Valerie Harper, Gary Beach and Roger Bart were the hosts.
